Welcome to St Mary's
We are a friendly and lively church for all ages meeting in a traditional church building that sits on the A217 in Burgh Heath, near Banstead. We are journeying together in getting to know Jesus better through his Word (the Bible) and his Spirit
, corporately on a Sunday and throughout the week individually and in small groups.
St Mary's is part of the Parish of Nork with Burgh Heath.
Sunday Morning Services (currently at 11am whilst not in lockdown)
Due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, we have had to make some temporary changes to how we carry out our Sunday service and the time that these are held. All that wish to attend our services at present need to book this online so we can arrange suitable seating spaced 2 metres apart to comply with current government and Church of England guidelines. Please contact us if you would like to join us for a service.
When we are not under government lockdown conditions we hold our Sunday service at 11am. The service contains live music played and sung by members of our Church, a sermon based on varying topics which highlight how the Bible is able to help us in our everyday lives, prayer, and often a slot for members of the congregation to share the good things that God is doing in their lives.
A key part of our program is remembering the sacrifice Jesus made by giving His life for us, so to commemorate this we hold a Communion service on the second and fourth Sunday of each month.
LIFE groups meet around the area, some weekly others fortnightly or monthly. They are an opportunity to study the Bible together and to share the ups and downs of life together.
Our other activities are:
A toddler group which meets at 10am on Thursday during term time (this is currently cancelled due to Covid)
An informal walking group which meets on the third Saturday of each month, when not in lockdown
Thirsty Thursdays. A monthly men's group which would normally meet in the pub at 8pm to enjoy a drink and good conversation. This is currently held via zoom.
We also run regular courses and other one off social activities which are all currently on Zoom. Please contact the Vicar Alex Stevens via email for more information (firstname.lastname@example.org)
We also offer a variety of courses run jointly by St Mary's and St Paul's.
